Lady Lawyers Luncheon -- "Lean In" for Career Success

Sandberg (COO of Facebook and one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World), shook established notions of strategies for women's equality by identifying internal obstacles for women's equality:

• we hold ourselves back by lacking self-confidence and pulling back when we should be leaning in
• we internalize negative, messages regarding being aggressive, outspoken and more powerful than men
• we lower our expectation of what we can achieve
• we continue to do the majority of housework and childcare
• we compromise our career goals for partners and children who many not even exist yet
• fewer of us aspire to senior positions.

Come join our discussion, lead by Lyn Flanigan (Senior Advisor at William S. Richardson School of Law and former Executive Director of HSBA), Joanne Grimes (Partner and former Managing Director at Carlsmith Ball, and former President of HWL), and Ellen Godbey Carson (Director at Alston Hunt Floyd and Ing and former President of HWL and HSBA).  We will also have time for introductions and networking.
