Sandberg (COO of Facebook and one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World), shook established notions of strategies for women's equality by identifying internal obstacles for women's equality:
Sandberg offers compelling, common-sense solutions that enabled her to succeed and that can empower women to achieve our full potential. If you haven't read "Lean In" yet, please view Sanberg's "Ted Talk" (15 minutes) at http://www.ted.com/talks/sheryl_sandberg_why_we_have_too_few_women_leaders .
Come join our discussion, lead by Lyn Flanigan (Senior Advisor at William S. Richardson School of Law and former Executive Director of HSBA), Joanne Grimes (Partner and former Managing Director at Carlsmith Ball, and former President of HWL), and Ellen Godbey Carson (Director at Alston Hunt Floyd and Ing and former President of HWL and HSBA). We will also have time for introductions and networking.
Invite a friend or colleague - the more, the merrier! Please respond to ecarson@ahfi.com by Friday, March 21 if possible, to let us know if you are coming. We will meet at the Plaza Club, 20th Floor, 900 Fort Street Mall, on March 24 at noon. We will have an in-room lunch buffet with salad, soup, sandwich and desert for $22 (tea/drink is another $4-$5). Payments are made at the Plaza Club. If you are an HWL member, mention that in your RSVP and you will be entered in a drawing for two free lunches for HWL members. If you need to cancel after making an RSVP, please let us know ASAP, before the reservation deadline, so we don't get charged for your meal!
