Join us for an informative and engaging discussion about the judicial confirmation process with State Senator Clayton Hee, chair of the Senate Judiciary and Labor Committee. Senator Hee will discuss the purpose(s) of the confirmation hearing, how the Senate plans for and conducts the hearings, and what prospective applicants for judicial office can do to prepare for confirmation. Whether you or someone you know would like to become a judge, or are just curious about what goes on behind the scenes, don't miss this unique chance to gain insight into a critical public aspect of the judicial application process!
Senator Clayton Hee
currently serves as chair of the Senate Judiciary and Labor Committee. He also sits as a member of the Tourism and Hawaiian Affairs Committee. Senator Hee represents Hawaii's 23rd Senatorial District and has served in the Hawaii State Senate since 1984. He also served as State Representative of Molokai, Lanai, and West Maui from 1982 to 1984. Senator Hee is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and received a B.A. of the University of Hawaii in 1975. He received his masters in Pacific Island Studies in 1979.
