Report from the Lean In Circles – The Power of Peer Support

Please join us on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. for a report from the Lean In Circles, led by Joanne Grimes, partner at Carlsmith Ball LLP, Chenise Iwamasa, Chang, Iwamasa & Chiu, LLP and Alika Piper, Klevansky Piper LLP. 

Lean In Circles (http://leanincircles.org) are small groups who meet regularly to learn and grow together through the power of peer support.  There are more than 22,700 Circles in 110 countries and 75% of members credit their Circle with a positive change in their life. 

  • Joanne Lo Grimes is a partner at Carlsmith Ball LLP and a former president of Hawaii Women Lawyers.  Her practice includes advising trustees and fiduciaries and counseling employers on employment law issues.  She is a recipient of the Rhoda Lewis Award for public service, and currently serves on the boards of PBS Hawaii and the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii.  In addition to her law degree, she has a B.S. in Finance, a Master's degree in International Management and is a Certified Financial Planner. 
  • Chenise Iwamasa is a Partner at Chang Iwamasa & Chiu LLP, practicing in the area of Real Estate with an emphasis in commercial real estate sales and acquisitions, real estate development, and commercial leasing.  She is a 2012 Fellow of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association’s Leadership Institute program and serves as an ongoing member of its Advisory Council.
  • Alika Piper is a partner at Klevansky Piper LLP, practicing in the areas of business litigation, business bankruptcy law, creditor's rights and collections.  She has served as a Director and Finance Committee Member of the Hawai`i State Bar Association and has been the Treasurer and a Board Member of its Bankruptcy Law Section.

Bring a bag lunch or snack; beverages will be provided.  And bring some of your business cards for networking, to help introduce yourself to others.
