Women Corporate Directors Panel Discussion
Tuesday, April 30, 2019, 5 - 8 p.m.
Much has been written recently about efforts to increase the number of women on corporate boards across the nation. However, how does one even get considered for a corporate board in Hawaii? What type of professional and/or pro bono experience and skill sets are important for board consideration? What are ways to maximize opportunities to be considered?
Our moderator will be Barbara J. Tanabe. She currently serves on the board of Bank of Hawaii and is Chair of board committee on trust services. She is the Founder and Chair of the Hawaii chapter of WomenCorporateDirectors. Ms. Tanabe was recently named a “2018 Director to Watch” by Directors & Boards magazine. She also serves on nonprofit boards, including Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs and American Judicature Society. She is the owner of Ho`akea Communications, a public affairs company. She has over 30 years of experience in public affairs, crisis management and broadcast journalism in the U.S. and Asia.
Our panel is comprised of distinguished Hawaii women:
