"Judge 'by the Day'":
Becoming and Being a Per Diem Judge
"Per diems," as they are sometimes known, are part-time judges appointed by the Chief Justice on an as-needed basis to preside in district or family court. Sitting as a per diem judge is gratifying in its own right and also can be a great step toward becoming a full-time judge or augment a career in private practice. Join us for a discussion with District Court Per Diem Judges Rebecca Copeland and Michelle Comeau, who will share their experiences applying for their positions and the challenges and rewards they face on the bench.
