Associate Justice McKenna has served on the Hawai'i Supreme Court since March 2011. She is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa and of the William S. Richardson School of Law. After law school, she was an associate with Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, General Counsel to Otaka, Inc., and an Assistant Professor at Richardson until being appointed to the state District Court in late 1993 then to the Circuit Court in 1995. She was awarded HWL's Outstanding Judicial Achievement Award in 2006.
Judge Castagnetti was sworn in as a First Circuit Court judge on September 30, 2010. She is assigned to the civil trials division and also serves as the senior environmental court judge for the First Circuit. Prior to her appointment, Judge Castagnetti was a partner at Bronster Hoshibata (now Bronster Fujichaku Robbins), where she represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of civil cases. She served as a per diem judge in the District Court of the First Circuit from 2007 to 2010 and as special counsel for the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Insurance Fraud Division from 2006 to 2007. She began her legal career as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the City and County of Honolulu in 1999.
Judge Kuriyama is a full-time Circuit Court judge in the First Circuit. Prior to her being appointed to her current position in November, 2014, she served as a Family Court judge for approximately nine years. Before her full-time appointment to the bench, Judge Kuriyama was a solo practitioner concentrating in the areas of private arbitrations and civil litigation, and previously had been a partner in the law firms of Greeley Walker & Kowen and Fukunaga Matayoshi Hershey & Ching. She also served as a Deputy Attorney General. Judge Kuriyama was the recipient of the Hawaii Women Lawyers Outstanding Judicial Achievement Award in 2013.
